Safe farming practices that insure food security & community development
Studying the viability of Neem plantations on Lombok Island
Ascertain culturally appropriate working systems in Flores together with local community leaders.

Working with local NGOs to insure that education & community empowerment are pivotal elements to the project.

SOIL REHABILITATION
The Neem tree thrives in eroded arid areas, and quickly replenishes top soil quality as its deep roots draw nutrition and moisture back to the surface of otherwise unworkable soils.

As the project actively regreens & reforests critical and dry lands, currently dry, unproductive land will be changed into farmable nutrient rich soil.

REFORESTATION
Re-forestation efforts are known to be greatly aided by the introduction of Neem trees. Countries successfully growing Neem include Africa, Cambodia, Indonesia, Iran, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, China, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras.

A few trees currently exist in southern Florida, Hawaii, Texas and Puerto Rico. A few trees currently exist in southern Florida, Hawaii, Texas and Puerto Rico.

INCREASING AWARENESS
Part of PT Intaran Indonesia's mission plan includes village level education including producing simple publications on appropriate Neem uses, and low technology refining techniques to support the development of holistic self-sustainable farming in rural areas.

As local farmers will have an increased understanding and awareness of the importance of environmentally friendly farming - the movement towards a more sustainable approach to farming in Indonesia will be greatly increased.

NATURAL PEST CONTROL
By increasing the total Neem Tree population a National resource for Natural Pest Control will be established.
