Neem creams used as a vaginal lubricant or birth control may be effective against the gonococcus bacteria. Using a neem-based lubricant cream may be helpful in reducing the chance of contracting the disease. Lubricating creams containing at least 25 percents neem oil were used in the tests, so lesser percentages may not provide the protection witnessed in clinical trials. Traditional treatment after infection calls for three cups of neem leaf tea daily for two weeks.
