In response to the overwhelming evidence of NEEM potentials, PT Intaran Indonesia has secured land for NEEM planting in Lombok & Flores with plans to Sumba, Timor and Sumbawa. Due to their dry, arid climates these areas are ideally suited for NEEM planting.
 
 
 
The Neem Project works to improve the financial independence of the farmers, and the development of environmentally friendly farming practices in Indonesia. The economic value of Neem is significant enough to add a real contribution to the community income.

Part of PT Intaran Indonesia's mission plan includes village level education including producing simple publications on appropriate Neem uses, and low technology refining techniques to support the development of holistic self-sustainable farming in rural areas.
 
 
 
As the project actively regreens & reforests critical and dry lands, currently dry, unproductive land will be changed into farmable nutrient rich soil.

As local farmers will have an increased understanding and awareness of the importance of environmentally friendly farming - the movement towards a more sustainable approach to farming in Indonesia will be greatly increased.

By increasing the total Neem Tree population a National resource for Natural Pest Control will be established.
 
 
 
Of implementation has been developed, considering environmental, social, and political variables.
This plan includes land / community development, and training. The initial focus is on a decentralized administrative system to empower the local people, with centralized refining and production, the pilot for which is based on Bali to ensure premium quality products. Expanding this vision...
 
 
 
Is to disseminate Neem plantation & processing technology by franchising environmentally stable Permaculture based farming, harvesting, refining and production techniques, supporting the ongoing global shift towards sustainable agricultural practices.
 
 
 
We have been working on a project together with government, in this matter Forest Plant Seed Hall (BPTH), a Forestry Department for getting the best quality seed source plants certain amount.
First step we have sent seeds research and development. And as the result the BPTH report suggests its growth up to 70 plants.

And in the other side, we also haved been working on with the department of Area Rehabilitation and Land Conservation ( RLKT ). A forestry Department for rehabilitation to the critical land in Bali, Nusa Tenggara Barat and Nusa Tenggara Timur, Indonesia.
 
 
 
We cooperating with other foundations or organizations which have same vision: safe the environtment.
 
1. KUTUH VILLAGE, JIMBARAN BALI
  We organized the neem plantation in Kutuh Jimbaran Bali, the one of critical land in south Bali, 700 plants (about 7 hectare) for first step. We develop to plant more neem in this vilage. Now, we are still waiting for the new seed in next harvest (arround february to may ’02). Between the neem plants, we set for castor plantation and other plants.

2. MAOS VILLAGE, NUSA PENIDA BALI
  In Maos, Nusa Penida Bali, 750 neem plant (about 7.5 hectare) already planted. next plan, we arrange to cover Nusa Penida with neem plant. We are still waiting for the seed. between the neem plant, we will plant vegetables, indigo and castor plant. In Maos Nusa Penida, there is no water sources, so we hope neem can hold the water from rain and make a water sources.

3. LOMBOK , NUSA TENGGARA BARAT
  More than 17.000 neem plant are ready to plant in Lombok. We will plant in some are such as:
- West Lombok: plabu (2000 plants), buntage (2000) , gerung (500)
- Central Lombok (Gunung Pujut): gentang (5000), prabu (5000)

There are about 100 hectare are planted (in total) in Lombok NTB Indonesia.
We arranged the plantation with the “bujak” organization, which have more than 40.000 members. Beetween the neem plants, we will plant tobbaco, castor and vegetables.
In other side, we plan to build an organic tobbaco plantation and other organic vegetables. Its already started in prepare the land with neem product.

4. NUSA TENGGARA TIMUR
  Neem already spread in several region in Nusa Tengara Timur: Flores, Ende, Ngada and Sika. Dian Mitra foundation is our colleague (mitra) at there. We united in NTNP (Nusa Tenggara Neem Propagation). They help us to plant the neem. Neem plant at there was listed about 11.864 plants. This equal to 118.64 hectare. More critical land will plant with the neem. Between the neem, they plant vegetables, cacao and other plant.
The other mitra will unite is lp2m nian tana ai. They interest to developt neem project together.

5. KELAPA, BANGKA (SOUTH SUMATERA)
  Tin is one of mineral that mine at bangka. So, many land or forest were damaged because to dig the tin.
We tried to plant the neem on this area, bangka. So far the neem plants growing well. it’s about 200 plant are growth and more next plantation. Between the neem we plant pepper, vegetables and rice.
To cover all of the area, need big cost, time and man, but we will try the best we can do.

  GTZ support us with information and machine. They gave us a press machine from germany and much information about neem. They also support us about neem development.
